Technology & Security Review
Things drift. Someone leaves and their account stays active. A subscription keeps renewing for a person who has not worked there in two years. A setting gets changed for a good reason and never changed back. None of it announces itself, so most businesses find out during an audit, an insurance renewal, or something worse.
We go through the whole environment: accounts and access, computers and servers, email, network and firewall, backup, monitoring, policies and insurance, and what the coming year is likely to cost you. Then we sit down and walk you through it in plain English.
You get the findings, what we would deal with first, and what it would take to deal with it. People are usually surprised by at least one thing. There is no obligation to have us do any of it.
Cloud & Subscription Services
Most businesses run on subscriptions now. We source them, set them up properly, and support them, so there is one number to call when something stops working.
- Microsoft 365. SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Azure, configured so your people can work securely from anywhere.
- Email security. Filtering in front of your mail, and the controls that stop your domain being used to impersonate you.
- Sharing and access. Making sure files reach the people you intended and nobody else.
- Licensing that matches reality. We check what you pay for against what you use.
We handle the setup and the ongoing changes. You should not have to know which setting does what.
Backup & Recovery
Plenty of businesses have a backup running. Rather fewer have watched one restore. We set it up, keep it running, and test that it comes back.
- Servers and workstations. Local and offsite copies, kept as far back as you would realistically need, including the files that never made it off somebody's desk.
- Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Those platforms replicate your data, they do not back it up. Deleted items age out, and most businesses discover that at the worst possible moment.
- Ransomware resilience. Copies an intruder cannot reach.
- Tested restores. On a schedule, so you learn the backup works before an outage rather than during one.
- A written recovery plan. Who does what, in what order, and who to call.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
We bring networks in line with PCI, HIPAA, and similar rules, and keep them there.
- Endpoint protection. EDR, antimalware, and antivirus on every machine, not whatever shipped on each one.
- Firewalls. Sophos, Fortinet, and similar, sized for your site, hardened, on current firmware, and covered by a live subscription.
- Access control. Sign in hardened across email and the systems people forget, with credentials managed properly rather than reused and passed around.
- Device and data protection. Laptops and desktops protected so a lost machine is an inconvenience, not a disclosure.
- Testing and monitoring. Regular checks on what is exposed, and alerts when your staff turn up in a breach.
- Security awareness training. Training and simulated phishing, because the click is still the most common way in.
- Cyber insurance support. We go through the questionnaire with you and tell you honestly which answers your setup supports, before you sign it.
- Written policies. The documents your insurer and your auditor will ask for.
Managed IT & Monitoring
This is the work that is easy to put off, because nothing breaks the week you skip it. We take it on so it gets done.
- Patching and updates. Across Windows, servers, and the everyday applications that quietly fall behind.
- Device management. Every machine set up the same way, and none of them unmanaged, including the phones that reach your mail and files.
- Monitoring. An alert is only useful if somebody reads it, so we tell you who that is.
- Joiners and leavers. Access starts and ends when it should.
- Documentation. Written down, kept current, and handed to you, so nothing lives only in someone's memory.
- Regular reviews. A standing date to go back over all of it, because settings drift.
IT Hardware, Software & Networking Sales
We supply HP, Dell, and Lenovo business equipment and spec it for the work it has to do. The gap between a workstation and a desktop is thousands of dollars, and plenty of businesses get sold the wrong one in both directions.
What we sell and what it is for
- WorkstationsFor work that punishes an ordinary PC: AutoCAD and other CAD packages, radiology and medical imaging, video, and large datasets.
- DesktopsThe dependable everyday machine for email, browsers, Office, and the software your business runs on.
- Mini and small form factorThe same capability in a much smaller case, for reception desks, tight counters, kiosks, and signage.
- LaptopsFor staff who work from more than one place, from light travel machines up to mobile workstations.
- ServersFile, application, and virtualization hosts, rack or tower, for the systems that stay in your building.
- Printers and peripheralsSupplied, networked, and supported, consumables included.
- NetworkingManaged switches, access points, routing, and firewalls. The equipment everything else depends on.
Software and networking
- Industry software. We work with your provider, whether that is NextGen, Mars Noteworthy, GMed, AutoCAD, Sage products including Sage 50 and Sage 300 CRE, or QuickBooks, so what you buy actually works with it.
- Version audits. Finding what is running unsupported, and planning the upgrade before it becomes urgent.
- Network segmentation. So not everything on your network can reach everything else.
- Guest Wi-Fi. Visitors get internet and nothing else.
- Wireless. In one building or between several.
- Terminal and smart device servers. Secure access for remote users across iPads, iPhones, Android, Apple, and Windows.
- VPN. Remote access, site to site, and extranet, encrypted, so people can reach what they need from home.
Planning and lifecycle
- Workstation lifecycle. Knowing which machines are too old for Windows 11, and replacing them on a schedule instead of all at once in a panic.
- Replacement budgeting. What ages out in the next year and what it will cost.
- Annual budget planning. One conversation a year, no surprises.
- Server upgrades and migration. Replace, upgrade, or move to the cloud, with an honest answer about which suits you.
- Growth planning. New locations, more staff, and remote working, sorted before you need it.
Onsite & Remote IT Support
We fix things in person and remotely. With remote support we can be on a machine within minutes of you calling, wherever it happens to be, which for most of our customers is close enough to having IT down the hall.
We work without support contracts. We would rather earn the next call than lock you into one, and most of our customers have been with us for years.
Wiring, Cabling & Custom Installs
- Data wiring. The wire you put in years ago may not carry what you run today. We assess what is there and install lines that bring the network up to full speed.
- Phone, fax, and business internet. We work with altafiber, Spectrum, Verizon, Datayard, and the cellular providers to design and install the service, and we will pull out the old equipment and cabling while we are at it.
- Video cabling. Displays, AV equipment, projectors, and patient education systems.
- Server room work. Battery backup, physical security, and tidying the rack so the next person can work in it.
- Custom jobs. Moves, buildouts, and the projects that fit nobody's catalog.
AI Adoption & New Technology
AI is worth the trouble where it takes real work off someone's plate. A good deal of the rest is noise, and some of it is a data problem waiting to happen. We help you work out which is which, then set up the parts worth having.
- Finding the right starting point. We start from the repetitive work your team already does, instead of buying a tool and then hunting for a use for it.
- Building it somewhere safe. New tools are developed and tested in a controlled environment, separate from anything live, so experiments cannot reach what matters.
- Rules about your data. Clear guidance on what can go into which tool, so customer and staff information does not end up somewhere you would not choose.
- Rolling it out. Fitted into the way people already work, with training on what the tools are good at and where they are not.
Surveillance Systems
Camera systems you can watch live from anywhere with an internet connection. Footage records offsite to somewhere secure, history is kept for days or weeks, and the cameras sit behind a password.
Wireless or IP cameras, around the clock monitoring, and recording triggered by movement. We put cameras and recorders on their own part of the network, away from the systems that run your business.
Private Data Center Support
We support small and medium private data centers: keeping uptime high, risk low, and the gap between servers and users short. Cluster servers, SANs, NAS, backup, and fiber, plus the ongoing work of maintaining backups, swapping hardware, updating software, firmware, and drivers, and looking after battery backup and physical security in the server room.
Medical Technology Integration
Healthcare depends on information moving quickly and accurately between patients, doctors, nurses, pharmacies, and everyone else involved. We build the systems that let it.
- Paperless and digital imaging integration
- Document management, archiving, and automation
- Patient self service kiosks
- Identity management
- Staff workflow
- Patient education
- Video cabling for medical displays
- Wiring, servers, workstations, network hardware, and peripherals
- HIPAA aware setup, with our security review applied to practices
Medical sites often have audiovisual needs too: sterile surgical environments, teaching labs, and distance communication. We cover those as well.
Audio/Visual & Presentation Installs
Board meetings, training, and internal communications on one side; sales, marketing, and digital signage on the other. We build to suit the room and the job.
- Boardrooms
- Training facilities
- Network operations centers
- Gymnasiums
- Cafeterias
- Kiosks
Internet & Intranet Web Sites
Hosting, design, and development. Intranet sites that centralize your data with remote access, sharing, and password protection, and public sites that bring work in.
We also sort out the part most businesses have never checked: who owns your domain name, where its DNS lives, and whether you could move your website and email tomorrow if you needed to.
